Louie Anderson (‘Baskets’) Emmy episode revealed for Best Comedy Supporting Actor (Exclusive)

Gold Derby can exclusively reveal that Louie Anderson is entering the “Baskets” episode “Thanksgiving” as his Emmy submission for Best Comedy Supporting Actor. This installment aired February 27 and was the sixth episode of the third season for the FX show.

In this segment, Christine Baskets (Anderson) learns on Thanksgiving that her rodeo is being sued by her own son Dale (Zach Galifianakis). She is despondent, but then Chip’s clown friends from France show up to brighten up her world. They smoke weed together and wind up at Arby’s. Enjoy our recent video chat with Anderson discussing this season and his career.

It’s the third straight nomination for Anderson in this category, which he won in 2016. For the 2018 ceremony, he is up against reigning champ Alec Baldwin (“Saturday Night Live”), past winner Tony Shalhoub (“The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel”), and former nominees Tituss Burgess (“Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt”), Brian Tyree Henry (“Atlanta”), Kenan Thompson (“Saturday Night Live”) and Henry Winkler (“Barry”).
