Michael Ketterer brings Simon Cowell to tears on ‘America’s Got Talent’ after singing James Bay’s ‘Us’ [WATCH]

Simon Cowell‘s Golden Buzzer, singer Michael Ketterer, returned to “America’s Got Talent” 2018 this week to perform live from the Dolby Theatre in the Quarterfinals 3 episode. This father of six brought Simon to tears after his emotional performance, which host Tyra Banks noted was one of the most vulnerable moments she’d ever seen. Will the family man sail through to the next round based on America’s votes? Watch the “Americas Got Talent” performance video above, read the judges’ comments below, and make your predictions for which seven acts will advance to the Semifinals.

Simon: “Michael, look. Oh gosh. As a dad, I can’t imagine what you’ve done. The fact that you’re on this show and you really need this and you’re a really, really special guy. I don’t know, there’s something about that.”

Mel: “I’m just trying to doodle so that I don’t cry too much. You’re just an incredible person. An incredible human being. To do what you’ve done, taking on board and adopting all these kids and giving them life, and then your voice sings such truth and honesty. You don’t have the best voice, but what you do is you’re captivating and you’re honest. I’m not gonna cry ’cause I’ve already cried. I cried at the first word you said.”

Heidi: “When you sing you sing with so much heart. And on a side note we just need more men like you.”

Howie: “More humans like you. You deserve to be here. This is not a sob story. This is a happy story. People should be led and inspired by who you are and how you are. America, how are you gonna find seven [to put through]? I don’t know. What a night!”

In his “AGT” live blog our recapper John Benutty had this to say about the performance: “The final performance of the night was Simon’s golden buzzer act, singer Michael Ketterer, who covered ‘Us’ by James Bay. His performance was emotionally-driven and earned an adoring standing ovation from the panel. Asked to speak first, Simon was basically speechless, overcome with the emotion of Michael’s story as an adoptive father. Mel had a better time with her words, calling him a captivating voice to the agreement of everyone else.”
