Even rock stars make mistakes. Last week on “Survivor: David vs. Goliath,” Mike White agonized over his vote but ultimately decided to keep Angelina Keeley instead of Lyrsa Torres. A whopping 56% of readers who voted in our recent poll believe that Mike of the Goliath tribe made a huge mistake, arguing that he should have instead teamed up with David tribe members Lyrsa and Nick Wilson to oust Angelina. Conversely, only 44% of poll respondents thought that he made the correct decision. Do YOU agree with our poll results? Sound off down in the comments section.
After the purple Jabeni tribe lost immunity, Mike’s vote seemed to flip-flop several times. On the one hand he didn’t want to vote out Angelina because he’d just eliminated Natalie Cole at the prior tribal council. “Maybe staying with Angelina makes more sense because if we merge together, then I’ve taken out two Goliaths from my original tribe,” Mike declared. “I’d have a huge target on my back.”
But on the other hand, Mike realized how “bats*** crazy” Angelina came off during the jacketgate drama and even told Nike and Lyrsa that she “would cut you” in an instant. Ultimately he decided to keep Angelina because she, like him, originally came from the Goliath tribe and they needed numbers for the upcoming merge. “Whatever happens today is gonna impact everybody’s game for the rest of the game,” Mike deduced.
Wednesday’s seventh episode will feature the long-awaited merge, and thanks to Mike’s decision the Goliaths now lead with seven players compared to only six David tribe members. But do old tribal lines still matter? Don’t forget, Mike has a super secret “rock star” alliance with Nick of the David tribe. And over at the green Tiva camp, two Goliaths (John Hennigan and Dan Rengering) have let a David (Christian Hubicki) into their “brochacho” group.
According to Gold Derby predictions, Mike will be safe heading into the merge as he has far-off 100/1 odds of being eliminated. Instead, the castaways most in danger of becoming the first jury member are Angelina, Alec Merlino and Kara Kay. Find out how the “Survivor” merge plays out Wednesday night on CBS.
