Miles Brown’s ‘Dancing with the Stars’ Juniors Choice number was a ‘slam dunk’ so what’ll it take to FINALLY get a 10? [WATCH]

What’s it going to take for “Black-ish” star Miles Brown to finally get a 10 on “Dancing with the Stars: Juniors”? He got 9s across the board on Disney Night for a total of 27 out of 30. Then he got 9s across the board again on Halloween Night. And on Juniors Choice Night, when the kids picked their own music and dance concepts, Brown got — you guessed it — 9s across the board. Is he going to be stuck there for the rest of the season? Watch his number above.

Brown chose to dance his jazz routine to the title song from “Space Jam,” which perhaps surprisingly is his favorite movie of all time; it was released in 1996, eight years before he was born. Kudos to the kids for appreciating classics from that bygone era. Despite the challenges of learning his choreography over webcam while shooting “Black-ish” and having to dance first, he wowed the judges.

Mandy Moore appreciated that “it was big, it had energy, and the audience was going.” Adam Rippon called it a “slam dunk.” And Val Chmerkovskiy “loved it” and thought it was “incredible.” Despite those effusive comments, they gave him another set of 9s, though they might have been holding back because Brown was the first performer of the night. At the end of the show the judges had loosened up and gave Ariana Greenblatt the highest score of the season so far: 9s from Moore and Chmerkovskiy, and the season’s first 10 from Rippon.

Greenblatt’s score also meant that Brown was knocked off the top of the judges’ leaderboard for the first time since the premiere episode of “Juniors.” Can Brown make a comeback next week and maybe even get the season’s first perfect score of 30 out of 30? Vote in our poll below to let us know who you thought gave the night’s best performance.
