MTV Video Music Awards 2018 winners: Best prediction scores by our Editors and Users

Congratulations to our User namseer for an average score of 50% when predicting the 2018 MTV Video Music Awards winners on Monday. He is actually tied with LuisAlbertoQH, ChildishGambino and Dimka but has a better point score total of 4,805 by using the 500 super bets wisely.

Over 550 people worldwide predicted these winners in 18 categories. The awards ceremony was held in New York City and did not have a host this year. For an event loaded with surprises, our top scorer got only half of the categories correct, including Pop Video (Ariana Grande), Rock Video (Imagine Dragons) and New Artist (Cardi B).

You can see how your score compares to all others in our leaderboard rankings of all contestants, which also includes links to see each participant’s predictions. To see your own scores, go to the User menu in the top right corner of every page of Gold Derby when you’re signed in to the site. Use the drop down menu to go to “View Profile,” then look for the links to your “Award Show Scores.” Gold Derby must evaluate each potential winner’s eligibility as per our contest rules. If eligible, the first-place finisher receives a $100 Amazon gift card.

For the four Editors predicting all 18 categories, we did even worse than the top Users. Marcus Dixon, Paul Sheehan and I finished with 33.33%. Daniel Montgomery had a 27.78% score. See Editors’ scores.
