Oscar fans demand that Warren Beatty & Faye Dunaway should get a do-over after last year’s Best Picture mix-up [POLL RESULTS]

Oscar fans are a forgiving bunch. Just one year after Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway made national headlines for naming the wrong Best Picture winner, fans overwhelming want them to be given a do-over. A whopping 83% voted in our recent poll that the former “Bonnie and Clyde” stars should come back to present at the 2018 Oscars. Of that majority, 53% think Beatty and Dunaway should present Best Picture again while 30% want them to announce the evening’s first award to get it out of the way early.

But not everyone is in agreement. Seventeen percent of poll respondents believe that the duo messed up so badly that they should not be allowed to present again … at least not this year. Which side do YOU agree with? Sound off down in the comments section.

The first wave of Oscar presenters have been announced, but Beatty and Dunaway were not on this list. There’s still time for Oscar producers Michael De Luca and Jennifer Todd to make a decision, as the ceremony is not until March 4. So far we know that reigning Oscar champs Emma Stone (“La La Land”), Viola Davis (“Fences”) and Mahershala Ali (“Moonlight”) will be presenters, but that Casey Affleck (“Manchester by the Sea”) will not be asked back.

Beatty and Dunaway memorably read out “La La Land” as the Best Picture winner at the 2017 Oscars instead of the actual winner “Moonlight.” As we now know, an Oscar accountant had given them the wrong envelope, resulting in the biggest mistake in the 89-year history of the Academy Awards. Beatty was recently seen making fun of the mix-up in an Oscars promo with host Jimmy Kimmel, while Dunaway has kept mostly quiet on the subject.
