Stanley Hudson narrowly escaped elimination in episode two of “Project Runway All Stars,” “Damsels in Distress,” in which the designers were tasked with creating distressed looks inspired by a post-apocalypse. He finished in the bottom two with Kelly Dempsey, but the judges decided to send Dempsey home instead. Can Hudson survive another week?
As of this writing our users who have made their predictions for tonight’s show are doubling down on Hudson, who gets leading odds of 11/10, which translates to a 48.04% chance of elimination. Hudson is one of the “All Stars” “rookies” this season who has never competed on “All Stars” before now. But he’s even greener than most of the other rookies because he previously competed in season 11 of the original “Project Runway” series, which was a special all-teams season. That means last week’s “Damsels in Distress” challenge was Hudson’s first solo challenge in “Runway” history. In a sense it’s like he’s learning how to compete on the show all over again.
But Hudson did end up finishing third in season 11, so we know he’s capable of great designs. If he rebounds from last week’s close brush with elimination, who else might be at risk? Rookie Char Glover and “All Stars” veteran Melissa Fleis are virtually tied in second position with 17/2 odds; that translates to a 10.52% chance of elimination for Glover and 10.31% chance of elimination for Fleis. After a strong start finishing as the runner-up in the season premiere challenge, Glover was one of the bottom three designers in “Damsels in Distress.”
Fleis, however, has sailed safely through the first two weeks of the competition without having received a high score or a low score from the judges yet. But she’s had mixed results in her past “Runway” appearances, finishing third in season 10 of the original series, but then finishing ninth in “All Stars” season three.
