‘Project Runway All Stars’ has a new front-runner as Fabio Costa jumps into the lead at the home stretch of season 6

Our users have been predicting who will win “Project Runway All Stars” season six since the competition began in January, but there has been no stable consensus about the front-runner, even now with only four designers left. The lead keeps changing hands, and that’s true yet again as we head into the penultimate episode of the season, “History in the Making.” Now Fabio Costa has the advantage.

When you combine the predictions of all Gold Derby users Costa gets leading odds of 10/9. This is his first week on top of our predictions. Going into episode 11, “Nina’s Crushing It,” we thought Stanley Hudson had the edge, and from episodes 6-10 Anthony Williams was out front. So what changed? Perhaps it’s his consistency. He hasn’t won a design challenge since episode five, “Fashion’s New Superheroes,” but he has gotten high scores in four other challenges, including the last three in a row: “Posen on the Red Carpet,” “Rock Your Face Off” and “Nina’s Crushing It.” And along the way he has only gotten one low score, in the avant garde challenge “A Kick in the Astro.” That’s fewer low scores than anyone else in the final four.

Williams, meanwhile, has struggled in recent weeks. Though he got off to a strong start this season and led our predictions for about a month, he has gotten low scores in three of the last four challenges, which gives him more low scores than any of the remaining designers. Nevertheless he’s holding on to second place in our predictions with 14/5 odds. And Hudson, who is the only designer with three challenge wins thus far, is close behind in third place with 4/1 odds. That leaves Ken Laurence trailing in fourth place with 12/1 odds even though he won the most recent “Crushing It” challenge. Are we underestimating him?
