“Project Runway All Stars” premieres tonight for its sixth season. The spin-off from the Emmy winning fashion design competition gives “Project Runway” alums a second chance to win — or sometimes a third chance — and as of this writing Amanda Valentine is the frontrunner for the title with leading odds of 9/5. That translates to a 35.89% chance of prevailing. Do you agree? Make or update your predictions here before tonight’s show.
Season six of “All Stars” divides its 16 designers into groups of eight “veterans” and eight “rookies.” The rookies aren’t total novices, of course, having previously competed in the main “Project Runway” series, but this is their first time competing as “All Stars.” Valentine is one of those rookies, but even then she has more experience than most. She first appeared in season 11 of the original series, where she finished eighth. However, fans voted for her to return to the show two years later in season 13, and she made the most of that second chance, making it all the way to the finale but falling just short of victory: she was the runner-up to champion Sean Kelly. The only way she can improve on that, of course, is by winning.
Ranked second in our predictions is Fabio Costa with 9/2 odds, or an 18.51% chance of winning. He’s one of this season’s veteran contestants. Like Valentine he’s competing for the third time overall, and like Valentine he improved from his first “Runway” appearance to his second. He finished in fifth place in season 10 of the original series, but then he was the runner-up in “All-Stars” season four.
Sitting in third place is Edmond Newton with 13/2 odds (13.36% chance of winning). He too is a rookie, and a recent one at that, having appeared in season 14 of the original series just two years ago and placing third. And trailing in fourth place is Char Glover with 12/1 odds (7.91% chance of winning). She’s another rookie, having previously competed against Valentine in season 13, where she made it to the finals and finished fourth.
