‘Project Runway All Stars’ winner predictions (week 6): Anthony Williams takes over the lead after Amanda’s ouster

There has been a big shakeup in our predictions for who will win season six of “Project Runway All Stars.” Every week we’ve polled fans for their picks, and based on their combined forecasts Amanda Valentine was the front-runner to take the title for the better part of a month. So it came as a shock when the judges eliminated her in the episode “Fashion’s New Superheroes,” ending her run in 11th place. Where has the momentum shifted since her ouster? To Anthony Williams, who has been consistent in impressing the judges all season.

As of this writing Williams leads our predictions with odds of 7/5. That translates to a 41.76% chance of victory, and it’s way up from last week when he placed third with 11/2 odds, or a 15% chance of winning. The season got off to a slow start for Williams when his team of veteran “All Stars” competitors lost the first design challenge of the season, but he performed so well in the second episode, “Damsels in Distress,” that he seemed not to realize he’d knocked it out of the park. He won that challenge and then received high scores in “Perfect Pairings” and “Balls Out.”

However, lurking close behind in second place is Fabio Costa with 27/10 odds, or a 27.28% chance of winning the competition. He’s also up from last week, when he had 3/1 odds, or a 24.58% chance of winning. But that might still be an underestimation of his potential since he’s the only contestant this season so far to have won two design challenges, in “Perfect Pairings” and “Balls Out.”

So is this now strictly a two-way race between Williams and Costa, or might one of them get the axe as abruptly as Valentine did last week? Check out the graphs below to see how the momentum has shifted throughout the season. Click on them for more detailed prediction stats for episode six on February 8.
