Rayshun LaMarr (‘When Love Takes Over’): ‘The Voice’ Top 12 performance makes him ‘the frontrunner,’ raves Adam Levine [WATCH]

Monday night on “The Voice,” rock singer Rayshun LaMarr represented Team Adam Levine during the live Top 12 episode of Season 14. Rayshun chose to perform David Guetta feat. Kelly Rowland‘s “When Love Takes Over” because it describes the support he feels from his loving partner every time he takes the stage. “Rayshun just continues to amp it up more every single time he performs,” Adam raved about his rocker. “That not only is just the key to success in general in the life of your career, but on the show it’s important [because] you’re playing to millions of people every night.”

Adam later added, “Rayshun, I really believe in that moment just now you became — I know I’m biased, you’re on my team — the frontrunner because you are the best performer in this group so far.” Rayshun, Sharane Calister and Jackie Verna are the last three artists remaining on Team Adam.

In his recap of “The Voice,” our live-blogger John Benutty declared, “In terms of performance quality, Rayshun has confidence and uses the stage well, but tonight something was off, almost like he was so focused on hitting marks that it stripped everything organic from his movements. Perhaps it was nerves, but the disengaged stage presence affected his vocals which I found to be pitchy and not as electric as Carson and the coaches seemed to think.”
