‘Riverdale’ and ‘Stranger Things’ lead 2018 Teen Choice Awards nominations second wave

Riverdale” reaped a leading seven bids in the second wave of 2018 Teen Choice Awards nominations that were announced on June 22 while “Stranger Things” follows with five. Both TV shows also figured prominently in the first round, which also included movie and music races. While this second set of nominations is focused primarily on the small screen, several categories also cite contenders drawn from the big screen.

The Teen Choice Awards take place on Sunday, August 12 and will air live from the Forum in Los Angeles on Fox beginning at 8 p.m. ET (tape delayed in the west). Voting opened on Tuesday, June 19, at 9:00 a.m. PT and can be done at TeenChoice.com or via Twitter. Fans are allowed 10 votes per category, per day, per platform user ID. To vote via Twitter, tweet a category hashtag (please see below) with the nominee’s name (either @nominee, or if the nominee does not have a Twitter account, use #nominee).
