Technically this is the 10th season for the ABC program, although it was 1997 since the last episode aired. The debut episode for the 2018 revival will premiere on Tuesday, March 27, in the same 9:00 time slot the comedy series occupied decades before. Although never nominated as Best Comedy Series, the show was one of the most popular of the late 1980s and throughout the 1990s. It won Barr the Best Comedy Actress trophy in 1993 and three times for Laurie Metcalf in Best Comedy Supporting Actress (1992, 1993, 1994). Goodman competed seven times as Best Comedy Actor but never prevailed.
