‘Roseanne’ revival: Season 10 cast of the Emmy-winning series [PHOTOS]

After an absence of 21 years, “Roseanne” returns to its traditional Tuesday night place on the ABC schedule on March 27. This revival will be season 10 for this one-time ratings juggernaut. As you will see when you click through the photo gallery above, all of the original cast returns for the fun. The goodwill generated by this reboot could well right one of Emmy’s biggest wrongs: “Roseanne” was never nominated for Best Comedy Series in its original nine-year run.

The TV academy spurned the show, which revolves around the working class Conner clan, in favor of more high brow fare like the political satire “Murphy Brown” and the sophisticated farce “Frasier.” It took till season four of “Roseanne” before the show’s creator and star, Roseanne Barr, was even nominated for an Emmy. She lost that year to “Murphy Brown” player Candice Bergen, but wreaked her revenge the following year.

As Roseanne’s jaded sister Jackie, scene-stealer Laurie Metcalf won Best Comedy Supporting Actress Emmys three years in a row beginning in 1992. But John Goodman, who reaped a staggering seven consecutive bids, never won an Emmy for for his work as Roseanne’s better half Dan Conner. Likewise for Sara Gilbert who contended twice for her role as the Conners’ middle daughter, the dour Darlene.

The two actresses to play eldest daughter Becky — role originator Lecy Goranson and replacement Sarah Chalke — are both featured in this revival. Goranson steps back into the part while Chalke plays a new character, Andrea. The women will have a connection as Andrea hires Becky to be a surrogate. And “The Big Bang Theory” star Johnny Galecki returns to the role launched his TV career: the hapless David Healey who has a child with Darlene.
