‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ 10 episode 10 recap: Which queen was banned from ‘Social Media Kings Into Queens’? [UPDATING LIVE]

The 10th episode of season 10 of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” airs May 24 on VH1. For the mini challenge on “Social Media Kings Into Queens,” the remaining six queens transform into macho men to tout a new body spray, Trade. In the maxi challenge each is assigned a social media superstar and tasked with giving them a drag makeover. Joining RuPaul Charles, Ross Mathews and Michelle Visage on the judges panel in episode 10 are actor Miles Heizer (“13 Reasons Why”) and singer Lizzo.

We expect them to choose Aquaria as the winner of the maxi challenge. Our exclusive Gold Derby predictions have this sassy 21-year-old Brooklynite going on to take the title at the end of this season of “Drag Race.” Conversely, we are predicting that Monét X Change — a 27-year-old who hails from the Bronx — will be eliminated at the end of episode 10. Do you agree? Be sure to make your predictions at the bottom of this post.

At the end of episode nine, RuPaul Charles threw a lifeline to the two queens – Eureka and Kameron Michaels — facing elimination. They had landed in the bottom two based on their combined efforts in the maxi challenge: to act in “Breastworld,” a spoof of the HBO sci-fi show “Westworld.” After both girls stepped up their game in their lip sync to “New Attitude” by Patti LaBelle, they were given a reprieve and allowed to stay in the competition.

Follow along for our minute-by-minute live recap. Keep refreshing throughout the episode for new updates.

7:55 p.m. – Last week’s non-elimination episode was a total shocker, but in hindsight probably not that shocking since one of the season’s strongest performers, Eureka, and one hitting their stride at the right time, Kameron, found themselves in the bottom. Tonight we will see someone eliminated and now it feels like it truly could be anyone, especially since we’re headed into the makeover episode where things like comedy and improv are less of the focus and garment-construction and makeup-application are most important.

8:01 p.m. – After last week the queens returned to the workroom and Aquaria returned to her usual schtick of being upset that she isn’t getting the recognition she thinks she deserves. Asia sticks up for the group by telling her that she is making an issue about herself that isn’t about her at all. None of this stops Eureka and Kameron from enjoying the fact that both of them earned the right to stay. At the end of the day, tensions are high because they’re so close to the end and it’s only understandable that they each want their work to be recognized.

8:06 p.m. – For tonight’s mini challenge the queens have to inhibit their most macho character and advertise “Trade,” a body spray for men. Kameron plays up the sexy macho look in a pair of cutoffs and a hard hat, Aquaria literally oinks, Monet has a tough time minimizing the feminine twist of his body, Eureka dons the character of “B.J.” which stands for “big jokester,” Cracker isn’t really good at getting butch, and Asia plays it a little stiff (not in the good way). The winner is… Eureka!

8:11 p.m. – As winner of the challenge, Eureka gets to choose the pairs for tonight’s maxi challenge, making over social media kings into drag queens! The stars here ready to be all dragged up are: Tyler Oakley, Chester See, Kingsley, Anthony Padilla, Raymond Braun and Frankie Grande.

8:16 p.m. – Eureka’s pairings are: Tyler and Monet, Chester and Cracker, Kingsley and Aquaria, Anthony and Kameron, Raymond and Asia and Frankie and herself. Part of her decision came down to what Ru said to Aquaria last week after she wasn’t strategic about her role choices–be strategic when you can and make moves to push yourself to the front. With that in mind, Eureka paired Aquaria with the king she thinks she’d have the toughest time applying makeup to, knowing that Aquaria will be really good at the garments.

8:21 p.m. – Asia and Raymond hit it off immediately, bonding over past seasons and a sequin jacket that Asia already has on her rack. Asia notices that Monet and Tyler are getting along really well, too, but their interactions for the most part are just a bunch of giggling fits and not much preparation. Cracker finds out that she got the heterosexual king and has to teach him about tucking. LOL!

8:23 p.m. – Frankie tells Eureka about his experience in show business, but says that while comfortable donning drag he isn’t well versed in actually doing it. Kameron also got a straight star and struggles to build chemistry with Anthony. Could this be the start of her second trip to the bottom in a row? Eek.

8:30 p.m. – Kingsley has also never been in drag before, but Aquaria tells him that he’s very comfortable putting other men in drag and points out that she’s not intimidated by Eureka handing her a person of color for this challenge. I loooove that she recognizes that Eureka was trying something with that selection and clocks that it isn’t going to work out for Eureka. Tea!

8:32 p.m. – Ru stops by to check in with each of the pairs. Once again Cracker speaks about her insecurities with opening up, something that Ru also notices in Chester right away. With Tyler and Monet Ru wants to know how Monet is going to manage the “strong family resemblance” aspect of the challenge, but neither of them seem too concerned. Kameron and Anthony are both as awkward in front of Ru as you might guess, but Kameron learns to be more open as the session progresses.

8:41 p.m. – Raymond is very open with Ru, probably the most excited to be here for this challenge, and matches Asia’s sweet personality perfectly. Eureka and Frankie are expectedly confident and when asked what they’re most afraid of Frankie responds with “expectations.” Kingsley is not quite as confident as Aquaria is which prompts Ru to advise him to leave fear behind and just own the process and have fun with it. Before leaving, Ru adds one last task to the challenge: each pair must create a short video to one of his songs. That shouldn’t be too hard for these social media stars.

9:01 p.m. – On the runway, miraculously Asia and America O’Hara managed to make a second sequined jacket, Eureka and Eurfreaka actually somehow come out looking like Eureka and Bianca Del Rio, Aquaria and Capricia Corn still look like confident meets awkward twin, Cracker and Miz Cookie have completely let loose and are having the time of their lives on stage, Monet and Short Change look like comedic librarians in Beyonce outfits, and Kameron and Kelly Michaels look like party sisters from the disco era, but something just doesn’t work.

9:10 p.m. – In critiques, Michelle is impressed with the jackets made by Asia and says that they really brought together the family resemblance. She’s also super impressed by Frankie and Eureka’s family resemblance. Lizzo and Miles also really loved Eureka’s work. The panel is less enthusiastic about what Aquaria put together for herself and Kingsley. Cracker gets high marks for the detail in her and Chester’s looks. Monet is applauded for finally not wearing a pussycat wig and though they both looks great the family resemblance is totally missing and that makes it a huge miss for the challenge. Kameron also catches heat for how simple their looks are and that the color palettes make it really hard for the judges to see the resemblance.

9:22 p.m. – Asia and Eureka are both called safe, leaving Cracker as the last remaining high score to be named the challenge winner. That’s Cracker’s first win of the season! With Kameron, Aquaria and Monet as the bottom three Kameron is the first to fall in the bottom two (her second week in a row) and Monet is the second (her third time this season). That means Aquaria is safe.

9:25 p.m. – “Good as Hell” by guest judge Lizzo is tonight’s lip sync for your life. Both girls know the lyrics and perform the song with passion and consistency, but Kameron takes it to more of a physics level doing cartwheels and working the stage with more excitement compared to Monet’s reliance on comedy, including a confusing exit from the stage in the back and a return into a split-slide to the front of the stage. Ultimately Kameron is declared safe, meaning third time wasn’t the charm for Monet and she exits in sixth place.
