Thirty-year-old stand-up comedian Samuel J. Comroe returned to the “America’s Got Talent” stage this week during the Judge Cuts 4 episode. All of the “AGT” judges — Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, Mel B, Howie Mandel and Chris Hardwick — were on the floor laughing at his jokes about his wife and his Tourette Syndrome. That begs the question: will Samuel be the first-ever comedian to win NBC’s reality TV show? (See the “AGT” winners list.) Watch the “Americas Got Talent” performance video above and read the judges’ comments below.
Chris: “That was a fantastic set. You could have let this disability take you over and you own it and you make it funny, which is a really hard thing to do. It was a pleasure to watch you do stand-up. I want to see a longer set.”
Heidi: “I really like your delivery and I think you’re very, very likable. I think you’re gonna go far in this competition, I really do.”
Simon: “I totally agree. You’re incredibly likable, edgy, but somehow you still made us all comfortable. I think you’ve done really well. You’re a good guy. I like you.”
Howie: “You’re a great guy. You’re a great symbol for what people should do when barriers are put up in front of them. And I’m so angry that we only have six spots. You deserve to be one of the six. I hope you are. We’ll be talking about it.”
In his “AGT” live blog, our recapper John Benutty noted, “The last audition of the night was from stand up comedian Samuel J. Comroe who came to the stage tonight with newfound confidence since his successful first audition. His set tonight focused on his relationship with his wife (they were high school sweethearts!) and his disability, poking fun at both of those things with a light-heartedness that makes him super likable. The panel still adores him and based on their compliments of his act tonight he should be safe for one of the final spots in the live shows. We’ll see!”
