Shannon Elizabeth (‘Celebrity Big Brother’) exit interview: ‘I’m not good at faking it, except in the movies’

Actress Shannon Elizabeth was not shocked to be meeting “Celebrity Big Brother” host Julie Chen following her live eviction on Friday, February 16. The “American Pie” star was the house’s biggest target because of her vast knowledge of the game, ferocious athleticism and mental strength in competitions. Still, Shannon thinks the house was wrong to evict her.

“Obviously Brandi [Glanville] and Ari [Gutierrez] thought they heard something that I don’t think I said or did because I wasn’t turning on them,” she revealed. But who did Shannon feel betrayed her the most? “Ross [Matthews] and Marissa [Jaret Winkour] because we had a final four and they didn’t try to fight for me.”

Chen pressed Shannon by asking if she played too hard, too fast by winning the first two competitions and spelling a 16-letter word during that second victory. “I’m not good at faking it, except in the movies,” Shannon replied. “We said a girl needs to win. Had James [Maslow] dropped (in the first HOH competition), I would have thrown it to any of the other girls. But when they all dropped, I had to win.” As for that 16-letter word? “Usually a 13-letter word wins this. How was I to know they could only [spell] four-letter words?”

Prior to the live eviction, Ross informed Shannon about the plan to backdoor her on Monday’s episode. Why would he tell her that now? “I think he just wants my vote at the end.” But will he get it? “No.” Shannon then summed up her experience with a sense of disappointment. “I wanted to play more. I love this game. I wanted to compete.” As her housemates were shown giving their farewell messages, it was only Metta World Peace who seemed to move her when he said, “I respect you like I respect Kobe Bryant. You’re an amazing competitor and I love you like a sister.”
