Sharane Calister (‘Hero’): ‘The Voice’ Top 11 performance made coach Adam Levine ‘afraid’ for her [WATCH]

Monday night on “The Voice,” soul singer Sharane Calister represented Team Adam Levine during the live Top 11 episode of Season 14. America’s song choice for Sharane was Mariah Carey‘s “Hero,” which is such a well-known tune that Adam warned her not to take too many liberties with it. Do YOU think that Sharane will advance to the next round on NBC’s reality TV singing competition? Watch “The Voice” performance video above.

“Sharane, full disclosure: I was afraid,” Adam readily admitted after her performance. “It’s a huge thing. I was a little afraid, not because I lacked confidence but because I would be afraid doing that song. Honestly, Sharane, I’m proud of you for tackling a complete beast of a song your own way, your style, your grace, your beauty. I love you, you crushed it.”

Sharane’s other performances on “The Voice” so far have included “Make It Rain,” “Mercy,” “All I Could Do Was Cry,” “Never Enough” and “In My Blood.” How does “Hero” stack up to her other songs? Let us know down in the comments section.

In his recap of “The Voice,” our live-blogger John Benutty declared, “For a huge song like this, Sharane started it out delicately, giving us a more timid delivery of some lines that Mariah would always make really big. I think the song finally became her own when Sharane stepped down from the dais (beautifully framed by a sextet of violinists) and moved about the stage closer to the audience.”
