Sterling K. Brown (‘This Is Us’) Emmy episode revealed for Best Drama Actor (Exclusive)

Gold Derby can exclusively reveal that Sterling K. Brown is entering the “This Is Us” episode “Number Three” as his Emmy submission for Best Drama Actor. This installment aired November 28 and was the 10th episode of the second season for the NBC show.

In this segment, Randall (Brown) is gearing up for Thanksgiving as he and Beth (Susan Kelechi Watson) are still settling in with their new foster daughter Deja. Her natural mother shows up at their house having been released from prison when charges are dropped. The custody worker wants to take Deja away, but Randall vows to fight that decision.

Brown won this category last year and also has another Emmy from 2016 for “The People v. O.J. Simpson.” He faces off against co-star Milo Ventimiglia for the 2018 ceremony. The other contenders are past champ Jeffrey Wright (“Westworld”) and previous nominees Jason Bateman (“Ozark”), Ed Harris (“Westworld”) and Matthew Rhys (“The Americans”).
