“Survivor: Edge of Extinction,” the 38th season CBS’s long-running reality TV show, premieres in the spring of 2019. While the bulk of the new cast is made up of brand new players, there’s a twist this season that’s sure to shake up the game as four returning castaways are back: Aubry Bracco, Joe Anglim, David Wright and Kelley Wentworth. Watch the preview trailer for the next cycle of “Survivor” above.
Here’s a quick refresher of the four fan-favorite players who are back for another chance at winning “Survivor”:
Aubry was the runner-up of “Survivor: Kaoh Rong” and came in fifth place when she returned in “Survivor: Game Changers.” In the promo video Aubry declares, “I know how hard this is gonna be. I can be starving. It can be pouring. But I am here for the win. That’s what I want. I will never quit. I am freaking determined.”
Joe came in 10th place in “Survivor: Worlds Apart” and eighth place in “Survivor: Cambodia — Second Chance.” Joe says in the trailer, “This game will take everything from you but you also have to give everything to the game. You know, there are archetypes like me that people say will never win. I’m gonna prove ’em wrong. Third time’s the charm, baby.”
While the other two castaways aren’t featured in the preview clip, fans will recall that David made it to fourth place in “Survivor: Millennials vs. Gen X” while Kelley came in 14th place in “Survivor: San Juan del Sur — Blood vs. Water” and then fourth place in “Survivor: Cambodia — Second Chance.”
Here’s how long-time host Jeff Probst describes the new cycle of “Survivor”:
“For our 38th season a new group of players will take on the greatest social experiment ever created. They’ll be joined by four returning players. And a new layer to the game will push them further than ever before. It’s ‘Survivor: Edge of Extinction,’ premiering next spring.”
