‘Survivor: Ghost Island’ finale: Jeff Probst promises ‘It is far from over’ for season 36

CBS will air the two-hour season finale of “Survivor: Ghost Island” on Wednesday, May 23 beginning at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT. The original cast of 20 has been culled to just six castaways still in contention for the title and the $1 million prize. Four members of the original Naviti tribe remain in the running: Domenick Abbate, Wendell Holland Jr., Sebastian Noel and Angela Perkins. Only two of the original Malolo tribe are still standing: Donathan Hurley and Laurel Johnson.

While Holland has the best odds to win according to our exclusive “Survivor” predictions, it’s still anyone’s game according to Jeff Probst, who has hosted all 36 seasons of the show. He assures viewers that there is a lot more drama to come on this installment of the reality-series competition series. As he told EW, “It is far from over.”

This four-time Emmy winner will also be hosting the one-hour reunion show that kicks off on CBS as sonn as the finale finishes. He promises, “it will be a very entertaining night.” Indeed, he advises fans to “pop an extra big bowl of popcorn, then settle in.”

Who do you think will win “Survivor” 36? As of this writing, Holland has a slight edge over Abbate in our exclusive odds with Johnson a strong third. But don’t discount Hurley and Noel, who have proven to be surprisingly adept players. Only Perkins looks like a complete long-shot, but if we know anything from all these years of watching “Survivor,” nothing is ever for certain in the final tribal council.

Listen to our exit interview podcasts with all of this season’s “Survivor” castoffs: Stephanie Gonzalez, Jacob Derwin, Morgan Ricke, Brendan Shapiro, Stephanie Johnson, James Lim, Bradley Kleihege, Chris Noble, Libby Vincek, Desiree Afuye, Jenna Bowman, Michael Yerger and Chelsea Townsend.
