Longtime “Survivor” fans are in for a treat during Wednesday’s double-length episode as a brand new reward challenge is debuted on the show (watch above). For the exciting rope bridge challenge, the remaining 10 players are randomly split into two groups of five: Mike White, Gabby Pascuzzi, Christian Hubicki, Alison Raybould and Alec Merlino on the orange team and Davie Rickenbacker, Carl Boudreaux, Angelina Keeley, Kara Kay and Nick Wilson on the purple team.
Each team races through the water to try to get to the rope bridge first, with the orange team just narrowly beating the purple players. One at a time, each person then has to climb up a platform and walk across a wobbly rope bridge while using overhead hanging ropes to balance.
Narrating the challenge, host Jeff Probst announces, “It’s gonna be Nick up first for purple, Alec for orange. You gotta balance with your feet on the bottom rope, using the top ropes to keep that balance and move you across. It’s a new ‘Survivor’ challenge.”
As usual, Jeff notes that Alec makes “quick work” of the rope bridge, “as he has done all season.” Jeff’s right: since the merge Alec has been involved in both of the reward feasts and he even won last week’s individual immunity challenge.
Once Alec and Nick make it across the rope bridge, Alison is next for orange while Kara tries her luck for purple. To see how the reward challenges plays out, be sure to tune into CBS on Wednesday, November 28 for the two-hour episode titled “Tribal Lines Are Blurred.”
