During the Season 20 premiere of “Big Brother,” former college basketball player Chris “Swaggy C” Williams won the opportunity to choose eight houseguests to save from elimination during this all-important first week. He was allowed to protect two groups of four based on the move-in assignments on Day 1, so of course he saved his own group that included Las Vegas performer Rachel Swindler, festival coordinator Angie “Rockstar” Lantry and cybersecurity engineer Brett Robinson. But it’s his second decision (vote in our poll below) that’s causing “Big Brother” fans to question his game play.
Instead of saving fitness model Angela Rummans‘ group — the person who came in second place during the all-important showdown challenge — he opted to protect the foursome of female football player Kaycee Clark, self-described dweeb Scottie Salton, country girl Haleigh Broucher and substitute teacher Faysal Shafaat. “I have to save the eight people I walked in the house with, which is group number three,” Swaggy C announced before making his huge decision.
Certified life coach Kaitlyn Herman immediately reacted in anger, telling group-mate Angela, “Really like the worst decision he could have made. He just got so much blood on his hands. The best thing he could have done for himself was to be like, ‘Angela, you played a really good game.’ I’m literally so pissed. He’s such an idiot.” Angela and Kaitlyn’s other group members are retired undercover detective Steve Arienta and professional dancer JC Mounduix.
Earlier in the diary room, Swaggy C explained his game move in more detail. “This decision is not just short-term, it’s actually long-term as well,” he said before going all third-person on us. “If Swaggy C is going to win the $500,000, I need great people who have my back. I have to consider who can be good allies to Swaggy C and I also have to consider who I’m willing to risk becoming my enemy.” Apparently Swaggy C believes he can work more closely with Kaycee, Scottie, Haleigh and Faysal than with Angela’s group.
