“The Amazing Race” just passed the halfway point of season 30 with episode six, “The Claws are Out,” airing on CBS on Jan. 31. With only six teams left in the running, we wanted to know which pairing you thought would make it to the mat first in the finale and win the million dollar grand prize. If you haven’t voted in our poll yet, be sure to do so at the bottom of this post and then sound off in the comments section.
Your overwhelming choice with 46% of the vote is Team Big Brother (Cody Nickson and Jessica Graf) who barely avoided elimination in this sixth installment. However, they have shown a willingness to make enemies along the way and this should help them rise up the ranks in the coming weeks.
During episode six, which took place in Prague, they were the only team willing to U-turn another pairing. This strategic moved meant that Team Well Strung, classical musicians Trevor Wadleigh and Chris Marchant, had to do both Detours. Not surprisingly, having to both transport a keg of beer and pass a science quiz ended with them being eliminated. Then at the Roadblock, Jessica misled two other players so that she could get a head start on the sprint to the finish line.
Team Extreme (professional skiers Kristi Leskinen and Jen Hudak ) garnered 22% of the vote. On leg six they overcame the roadblock that was a Switchback to one that stymied teams in Season 15. Of the other four teams still in the competition, only Henry Zhang and Evan Lynyak (Team Yale) merited double digit support with 18% of the vote.
Phil Keoghan warned the six remaining teams that the road ahead would be full of surprises. While finishing first in any leg earns a team bragging rights, it is no guarantee of victory at the end of this race around the world. Who do you think will win this 30th edition of “The Amazing Race.” Vote in our poll below and then be sure to make your predictions as to the outcome of episode seven, “All’s Fair in Love and War.”
