“The Amazing Race” makes it to Morocco on the third episode of season 30 that airs on Jan. 17. As per the official description that accompanies the preview trailer (watch above), the episode is titled “It’s Gonna be a Fragrant Day.” And it promises that “things get slimy at a fishy challenge” as the nine teams still in contention “scale buildings and run through the narrow streets of Tangiers, Morocco.” Do you have a favorite pairing that you are rooting for to win the million dollar grand prize? Be sure to vote in our poll at the bottom of this post.
Last week, the teams raced around Belgium in the second leg. “Big Brother” contestants Cody Nickson and Jessica Graf kept their cool in the first Head-to-Head contest in the 30-season history of the show, with Nickson edging out NBA all-star Shawn Marion on the obstacle course. That meant they made it to the mat first where Phil Keoghan told them that for their efforts, they had each won $2,500.
Conversely, Yale grads Henry Zhang & Evan Lynyak had to run the race seven times between them, until Zhang finally came up with a winning strategy; they ended the leg in eighth place, just ahead of twin brothers Eric & Daniel Guiffreda. Those firefighters had to fight to the finish and outran April Gould and Sarah Williams. That meant Team Goat Yoga was eliminated from the race.
While finishing first in any leg earns a team bragging rights, it is no guarantee of victory at the end of this race around the world. Who do you think will win this 30th edition of “The Amazing Race.” Vote in our poll below and then be sure to make your predictions as to the outcome of episode three, “It’s Gonna Be a Fragrant Day” in which the 10 teams remaining in the race head to Tangier, Morocco.
To recap, in order of where they finished on episode two, “You’re the Best French Fry Ever,” the teams were:
Cody Nickson & Jessica Graf (Team Big Brother)
Cedric Ceballos & Shawn Marion (Team Slam Dunk)
Kristi Leskinen & Jen Hudak (Team Extreme)
Trevor Wadleigh & Chris Marchant (Team Well Strung)
Alexander Rossi & Conor Daly (Team IndyCar)
Lucas Bocanegra & Brittany Austin(Team Ocean Rescue)
