Or, as host Phil Keoghan said in last week’s episode, “You know when the stakes are high, you gotta do what you gotta do”?

Jessica and Cody raised eyebrows during last week’s two-hour episode when they U-turned classical musicians Trevor Wadleigh & Chris Marchant, resulting in their elimination from the game. Moments later, Jessica lied to Indy car drivers Alexander Rossi & Conor Daly and newly engaged lifeguards Lucas Bocanegra & Brittany Austin at the telephone Roadblock challenge so that she could finish ahead of them.

Critics will argue that there’s nothing in the “Amazing Race” rule book against lying or playing dirty. In fact, producers probably love moments like this because it creates juicy reality TV drama. But every time Team Big Brother tells another lie, they create another enemy. If Jessica and Cody keep it up, the remaining teams may start gunning against them, making it difficult for them to win the $1 million prize.
