Did you watch the first episode of season 30 of “The Amazing Race” on Wednesday (Jan. 3)? After seeing all 11 teams in action as they raced around Iceland in the first leg do you have a favorite pairing that you are rooting for to win the million dollar grand prize?
Professional skiers Kristi Leskinen & Jen Hudak certainly lived up to the title of the episode, “You’re a Champion, Prove It.” They sailed through the Detour across the Geitárgljùfur River and then aced the Roadblock at Mosfellsdalur, which requried them to ride off-road in a buggy and spot 11 letters on a course that had to be rearranged into the location of their next clue: Inglfur Square in Reykjavík.
When they got there, they easily figured out the answers to the riddles (Cod liver oil and Bennevin) and were then first to the mat on the Tjörnin Lakeshore where Phil Keoghan and Miss Iceland were waiting. For their efforts, they won a trip for two to Santorini.
While finishing first in this initial leg earns a team bragging rights, it is no guarantee of victory at the end of this race around the world. Who do you think will win this 30th edition of “The Amazing Race.” Vote in our poll below and then be sure to make your predictions as to the outcome of episode two, “You’re the Best French Fry Ever,” in which the 10 teams remaining in the race head to Antwerp, Belgium.
