‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ season 2 teaser: Emmy-winning drama series starring Elisabeth Moss returns to Hulu on April 25

“The Handmaid’s Tale” is set to return for season 2 on April 25 when Hulu streams the first two episodes of this dystopian series about life in Gilead, a religious theocracy that forces fertile women ito be procreative slaves. The action will pick up where it left off at the end of the freshman season, with Offred (Elisabeth Moss) expecting a baby that she is determined to shield from the dystopian horrors of Gilead.

Moss won her first-ever Emmy last fall for her starring role in this critically acclaimed adaptation of Margaret Atwood‘s 1985 bestseller. And the show made history as the first streaming program to win Best Drama Series. In January, Moss and the show won these races at both the Golden Globes and Critics’ Choice Awards. At the latter awards, Ann Dowd picked up another Drama Supporting Actress prize to add to her Emmy.

Dowd is chilling as Aunt Lydia, who often intones ‘Gilead is within you.’ In the sophomore season of “The Handmaid’s Tale,” Offred and her fellow slaves will resist succumbing to this seemingly inevitable fate.
