‘The Voice’ battle rounds: Christiana Danielle & Shana Haligan harmonize ‘Use Somebody’ perfectly for Team Alicia Keys [WATCH]

Monday night on “The Voice,” Christiana Danielle and Shana Haligan performed Kings of Leon‘s “Use Somebody” for Team Alicia Keys during the first battle round episode of Season 14. The two artists harmonized perfectly with each other, but Alicia ultimately chose to save Christiana, thereby eliminating Shana from the reality TV singing competition. “I love this version of that song,” raved Alicia. “And I love the fact that you could deconstruct it and take it to another place and still make it as powerful and meaningful in a way that’s almost unrecognizable. The battles is one of favorite parts of this show because you actually can do these kind of extra creative, cool things. So congratulations on a beautiful performance. I loved it, you killed it.” After a brief moment, Alicia concluded, “The winner of this battle is Christiana.”

In his recap of “The Voice,” our live-blogger John Benutty declared, “Alicia’s concern was that the women had to take chances with their performance rather than remain stiff in their comfort zones. Without a doubt this was the best battle of the night! Christiana and Shana were both breathtaking, maintaining their own presence while harmonizing so perfectly with one another.”
