Monday night on “The Voice,” D.R. King and Jackie Foster performed Harry Styles‘ “Sign of the Times” for Team Kelly Clarkson during the first battle round episode of Season 14. Both artists rocked out in the best battle of the night, but Kelly ultimately chose to save D.R. However, Jackie didn’t end up going home as all three of the other coaches shockingly tried to steal Jackie for their own teams. Which team did she pick? Watch “The Voice” performance video above.
“Okay, I’m sweatin’,” Clarkson said when it was finally time to choose either D.R. or Jackie. “I love both of you. And D.R. when you hit those crazy notes, they’re effortless. Then little miss over here comes in. I am so screwed. The winner of this battle — because I know the other’s gotta be safe — is D.R.”
After Kelly made her decision, the other three coaches — Adam, Blake Shelton and Alicia Keys — all tried to steal Jackie. After a brief discussion, Jackie decided to join Team Adam. “I don’t think you really realized what you just did, but you could win this thing,” Adam told her confidently.
In his recap of “The Voice,” our live-blogger John Benutty wrote, “For their song they have ‘Sign of the Times’ by Harry Styles, a big pop rock song that Kelly thinks their big voices can handle. Hailee Steinfeld picked out D.R.’s falsetto and Jackie’s intensity as their strengths and Kelly was laser-focused on making sure that they are both at the top of their game for this performance.”
