Tuesday night on “The Voice,” Sharane Calister from Team Adam Levine and Christiana Danielle from Team Alicia Keys were named America’s bottom two artists in the live Top 11 results episode. Both ladies were given the chance to sing for America’s instant save, with Sharane choosing to perform Beyonce‘s “If I Were a Boy.” After the performance America voted live to send Christiana through to next week’s Top 10, thereby eliminating Sharane from the reality TV competition. After delivering a shaky version of “If I Were a Boy,” Adam begged the live audience to save his soul singer. “I’m so mad and sad that you’re even in the bottom,” Adam told Sharane. “The bottom is my least favorite place for any of my team members to be because it never reflects anyone’s talent. It always just reflects the opinion of a group of people in a moment. So what I want to tell everybody who’s voting to potentially save you is that this show is a series of moments. I know you’ve had big moments before and I know you can have another one.”
In his recap of “The Voice” results show our live-blogger Denton Davidson summarized, “It’s typically a wise choice to sing a ballad like this and Sharane is able to show off her big belting range. Unfortunately, she seems to veer off key at times and her runs seem a little all over the place. It actually seems like she might be suffering from some vocal strain, I’m not sure she’s in full voice. The performance was just okay.”
