‘The Voice’ Emmy submissions: Will it continue its awards reign with help from Chloe Kohanski and Brynn Cartelli?

The Voice” enters the 2018 Emmy race as the defending champion for Best Reality-Competition Program. It has won that prize for four of the last five years, including the last three in a row. Will it continue to dominate the race? On this year’s Emmy ballots it has some help from season 13 winner Chloe Kohanski and season 14 champ Brynn Cartelli. Scroll down to see the show’s complete list of Emmy submissions.

The singing competition has won 7 Emmys overall out of 36 nominations, and it has won at least one award every year except 2012 and 2014. It was nominated seven times in 2017 alone: in addition to Best Reality-Competition Program, it was also up for Best Casting (Reality), Best Sound Mixing (Variety), Best Makeup (Multi-Camera), Best Short Form Variety Series (“Behind the Voice”), Best Hairstyling (Multi-Camera) and Best Production Design (Variety/Nonfiction/Reality). That was its second biggest nominations haul ever, behind the nine noms the show received in 2014.

“The Voice” has been submitted for consideration in all seven of those categories again this year and several more. In multiple races the show has entered the two-part season 13 finale in which coach Blake Shelton‘s protege Kohanski was declared the winner (costumes, hairstyling, lighting design/direction, technical direction), while one submission is for the season 14 finale won by Team Kelly Clarkson artist Cartelli (sound mixing).

Emmy voters could also embrace the show for Best Short Form Nonfiction/Reality Series for “The Voice on Snapchat.” And maybe Carson Daly will finally earn his first ever bid for Best Reality Host. He has never made the cut as emcee, though as a producer he did share in the show’s four Emmy wins for Best Reality-Competition Program.
