Monday night on “The Voice,” Alexa Cappelli and Jorge Eduardo represented Team Kelly Clarkson during the third and final knockout round episode of Season 14. Alexa sang Elton John‘s “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road,” while Jorge took on Miguel‘s “Adorn.” After both artists performed Kelly chose to advance Alexa to the next round, thereby eliminating Jorge from the reality TV singing competition. “I love Jorge,” Kelly admitted. “But Alexa [sang] a crazy, hard melody, which is bold. You both did do well. I just didn’t think this would [be so hard]. The winner of this knockout just keeps shocking the hell out of me. Her name is Alexa.”
Later on, Kelly expanded on her decision to advance Alexa to the live playoffs. “Alexa brings her A game every time she’s in front of a crowd. When she gets on stage it’s like beautiful flower forages.

In his recap of “The Voice,” our live-blogger John Benutty noted, “Alexa’s performance is perfectly competent, quiet and understated in terms of stage presence so that her voice is the focal point. She gets a little pitchy at times, but still manages to bring the depth that the song requires. Jorge’s song, livelier than Alexa’s by nature, gives him room to groove and really dig into the meat of the song with a rasp and coolness that even the original doesn’t quite reach.”
