‘The Voice’ live playoffs: 16-year-old Chevel Shepherd performs country classic ‘Grandpa’ for America’s vote [WATCH]

During Monday’s live episode of “The Voice” Season 15, country artist Chevel Shepherd of Team Kelly Clarkson performed “Grandpa (Tell Me ‘Bout the Good Old Days)” for America’s votes. Prior to this performance, the 16-year-old sang “If I Die Young” in the blind auditions, “You Look So Good in Love” in the battles and “Travelin’ Soldier” in the knockouts. Since 24 artists performed live on November 12, there was no time for judges’ comments. Do you think Chevel will advance to the Top 13? In his “The Voice” live blog, our recapper Denton Davidson had this to say about the live performance: “Chevel Shepherd is singing the country classic, ‘Grandpa Tell Me Bout the Good Old Days.’ She looks adorable in her age-appropriate flowered dress and sounds ready for radio. She effortlessly sings as she slowly graces across the stage. This is a diamond in the rough Kelly will definitely need to keep around.”

According to NBC’s bio, “At just 16 years old, Chevel constantly impresses people with her powerful voice given her age and petite stature. She was raised on country music and the outdoors – often doing crafts, feeding the animals and fixing up cars with her dad. Since Chevel was eight, she has been singing in town wherever she can, but she’s looking for bigger musical opportunities. Chevel is ready for her talents to be heard beyond her small town.”
