‘The Voice’ live playoffs: DeAndre Nico stands out on Team Adam Levine with ‘Ordinary People’ cover [WATCH]

During Monday’s live episode of “The Voice” Season 15, soul artist DeAndre Nico of Team Adam Levine performed “Ordinary People” for America’s votes. Prior to this performance, DeAndre sang “When I Was Your Man” in the blind auditions, “Can You Stand the Rain” in the battles and “Wanted” in the knockouts. Since 24 artists performed live on November 12, there was no time for judges’ comments. Do you think DeAndre will advance to the Top 13? Watch “The Voice” live playoff video above and then make your predictions at Gold Derby.

In his “The Voice” live blog, our recapper Denton Davidson had this to say about the live performance: “We move right along with DeAndre Nico singing ‘Ordinary People.’ Vocally, DeAndre is near the top of the list this season and he continues to prove that tonight. He is lacking the star power I think it takes to WIN, but I’ve seen that develop throughout the course of a season before. There’s no way Adam will let go of him this week. He’s a vocal beast.”

According to NBC’s bio, “DeAndre has been captivated by music his entire life. Some of his earliest memories involve playing drums and piano and singing in school. After high school, life was normal for DeAndre until Hurricane Harvey devastated his hometown. DeAndre’s family lost everything – clothes, cars and even their home. Although the family plans to rebuild, DeAndre is hoping to find his new home on ‘The Voice’ stage.”
