During Monday’s live episode of “The Voice,” soul artist Kennedy Holmes of Team Jennifer Hudson performed “Halo” for America’s votes. Prior to this performance, Season 15’s predicted winner sang “Turning Tables” in the blind auditions, “Battlefield” in the battles and “What About Us” in the knockouts. Since 24 artists performed live on November 12, there was no time for judges’ comments. Do you think Kennedy will advance to the Top 13? In his “The Voice” live blog, our recapper Denton Davidson had this to say about the live performance: “Kennedy Holmes is closing out the night with ‘Halo.’ This 13-year old girl has been called the early front-runner and drawn comparisons to a young Whitney Houston. That’s too much pressure for this girl! She doesn’t look phased at all, taking the stage looking as poised as ever. This isn’t the most impressive vocal performance of the night, but she radiates on that stage and the coaches jumped to their feet!”

According to NBC’s bio, “Despite her age, Kennedy is no stranger to the spotlight. Kennedy is continuously showcasing her singing and dancing talent in various theater productions at The Muny, one of St. Louis’ most famous venues. Music came into Kennedy’s life when she would sing for her mom at just two years old. Kennedy sang Jennifer Hudson’s “I Am Changing” at her first public performance. As the youngest in the competition this season, Kennedy is beyond excited about the opportunity to sing for the coaches.”
