And now enjoy our live updating blog with a recap for the results show on Tuesday, December 4:

8:00 p.m. — It’s one of the biggest nights of the season tonight with two artists going home. I have to say, last night I had the toughest time decided which artists I would predict to be eliminated. All of Monday’s performances were a step up for the artists so it’s going to be a heartbreaker to see who polled the least votes.

8:01 p.m. — Kicking off the night, James Arthur and Anne-Marie took the stage to perform “Rewrite the Stars” from the compilation album “The Greatest Showman: Reimagined.” Seeing them on stage together reminded me how much I love duets and wish that “The Voice” had more time to devote to the artists performing full length duets with each other. If you could pick any two of this year’s top 10 to duet on a song together who would it be? Let me know in the comments!

8:05 p.m. — Before giving us the first set of results, Carson Daly broke the news that Chris earned the Apple Music bonus for having the most streams during the voting window overnight. He unseats Reagan who had that honor for the first two weeks of the live shows.

8:06 p.m. — With that, the first two artists safe and advancing to next week’s semi-finals are: Team Blake’s Kirk Jay and Team Jennifer’s Kennedy Holmes!

8:13 p.m. — The next two that earned the votes to move on to the next round are: MaKenzie Thomas from Team Jennifer and Chevel Shepherd from Team Kelly! That means Jennifer moved on with both of her remaining artists while Adam, Blake and Kelly all waited to hear the fate of their two artists still in limbo.

8:20 p.m. — Taking the stage to perform her banger “Heat,” Kelly showed everyone what it means to be the voice of a generation, even if she’s a little raspier than usual because of some throat soreness. I have been waiting for her to properly promote this song since the album “Meaning of Life” came out. Let’s hope she scores some Grammy noms for that album this week!

8:23 p.m. — From the remaining six artists, only five took the stage because Reagan was feeling “under the weather” during the live taping. But that didn’t stop the results from coming through–the last two safe from elimination were: Team Kelly’s Sarah Grace and Team Blake’s Chris Kroeze! That left only four waiting to hear whether they’d sing for the Instant Save as part of the bottom three.

8:31 p.m. — Before the last set of results, Gwen Stefani was joined by Mon Laferte for a rendition of “Feliz Navidad” from her 2017 holiday album “You Make It Feel Like Christmas.” There honestly isn’t a holiday song that is more Gwen than that, is there?! The cheer and playfulness of is exactly what we all love about Gwen!

8:35 p.m. — Once again Reagan did not appear on stage for the results as Carson announced that Kymberli Joye was the last to be saved! Carson did let us know that only DeAndre and Dave would sing for the save, but that the audience could still tweet to save Reagan. That is an interesting twist… and a dangerous predicament for Reagan who I’ve been predicting as the winner since the live shows began!

8:42 p.m. — First to sing was Dave Fenley with “Amazed.” It was a really smart song choice for Dave who has struggled to find his groove in the competition. If he’d taken on songs with an emotional core like this he might have sailed into the semi-finals with ease. Kelly complimented his “smart” choice of song and said it was perfect for his round tone.

8:46 p.m.DeAndre Nico also chose a song full of emotion to perform with “All of Me.” Wow, I wish he had picked to sing this on Monday because it is the absolute perfect fit for him. He was able to show off the richness of his tone and an incredible range. His performance earned a standing ovation from Jennifer, Kelly and Adam. Jennifer told him that he did the best he can do while Adam lamented having two artists in the bottom and that DeAndre was there for the second time and still sang “like a champ.” Adam also took the opportunity to plead on behalf of Reagan which, ultimately, was him throwing DeAndre under the bus.

8:52 p.m. — At the start of the commercial break, the graphic showed that DeAndre and Reagan were in a close race for the most votes tied around 36% each while Dave was struggling to keep pace at 26%. As the time went on Reagan pulled votes away from Dave and spiked to 39%, giving her a 2 percentage point lead over DeAndre’s 37%.

8:56 p.m. — After break, Kelly took a moment, as a past contestant on the show, to give DeAndre a lot of support for “singing the hell out of that song.” Man, I love Kelly so much. She picked up on how crappy DeAndre must have felt hearing Adam use airtime to push for Reagan instead of him and decided to give him some comfort before the results came through.

8:58 p.m. — After the conclusion of the Instant Save window, the final artist moving on to the semi-finals is Reagan Strange! Whoa. What a wild, wild night. Adam’s plea for her has to have played a part in that and it might just be enough to give her an underdog narrative going in to the next round! What do you think of the events of tonight? Sound off in the comments!
