Live updating recap of the results episode plus analysis below for Tuesday, May 15:

8:00 p.m. – Kyla (Team Blake) led all contestants on the iTunes charts following their Monday night performances, followed closely by Britton (Team Alicia) and Brynn (Team Kelly). Will those three sail into next week’s finale? Not necessarily. Kaleb (Team Kelly), Pryor (Team Blake) and Spensha (Team Blake) all landed in the top 10 on iTunes as well. Everyone who scores a top 10 single earns bonus votes. It looks like Jackie (Team Alicia) and Rayshun (Team Adam) will be the first eliminated, but after that it will be a fierce battle to move on! Let’s find out who makes the Season 14 finale!

8:10 p.m. – Just moments into the broadcast, host Carson Daly is ready to announce some results. The first artist advancing to next week’s finale is…Spensha (Team Blake)! WOW! Spensha is stunned and so am I. There is clearly a groundswell of support for the young country singer beyond iTunes. I expected she would have to fight it out for the instant save. Congratulations Spensha!

8:15 p.m. – Multi-platinum recording country star Kane Brown is making his first appearance on Prime Time TV with his new single “Heaven.” It’s amazing to think that the contestants on “The Voice” have more TV experience than this artist who has sold millions of records. It actually shows. I’m not sure Kane could make it into the finale with this lazy  performance. But the guy has the number one song on the country charts and is nominated for three Billboard Awards so who am I to judge?

8:20 p.m. – It is time to find out the name of the next artist to advance to the finale. The second finalist is…Brynn (Team Kelly)! At just 15 years old Brynn is the youngest artist in the competition, but she’s performed solidly on the charts all season. Congratulations Brynn!

8:25 p.m. – Next on stage is the Grammy-nominated rock group Panic! at the Disco with their new single “Say Amen (Saturday Night).” Unlike the last act, it is obvious this group is no stranger to the big stage. I’m not in love with the song, but they know how to put on a show. Nobody looks like they’re having more fun watching than Alicia, who was enthusiastically fist pumping throughout.

8:30 p.m. – It is time to find out the third finalist! The next artist advancing to next week’s finale is…Kyla (Team Blake)! Kyle led the iTunes chart overnight so it’s not too big of a shock. What is most shocking is that Britton was left hanging. For months he has been the favorite to win according to our own Gold Derby odds. Have we been wrong all season? Congratulations Kyla!

8:37 p.m. – Before we get to more results, six-time winning coach of “The Voice” Blake Shelton is performing his new song “Livin’ It Up.” Blake is performing the somber tune while seated on a stool with a simple ensemble consisting of one back-up singer and two instrumentalists. Sounds like another hit for Blake!

8:40 p.m. – Tension fills the room as the five remaining contestants march on stage to find out who has been automatically eliminated and who will fight for the final instant save of the season. The first artist competing for the instant save is…Britton (Team Alicia)! The second artist performing for a spot in the finale is…Kaleb (Team Kelly)! Still in it and hoping to continue on to the finale is…Pryor (Team Blake)! As expected, Jackie (Team Alicia) and Rayshun (Team Adam) have been eliminated from the competition.

8:45 p.m. – First up to perform for the instant save is Pryor (Team Blake) singing “Soul Shine.” Without hesitation, Pryor belts out those soulful, raspy notes we’ve become accustomed to hearing from him. The man has serious pipes and I can’t imagine any Pryor fans could be disappointed with this performance. But will it be enough?

8:50 p.m. – Singing “Simple Man” for his only chance to become a finalist is Kaleb from Team Kelly. This is a great song choice that likely has more appeal than what Pryor just did. He looks relaxed on stage and sounds great in this high-pressure situation. He definitely held his own against Pryor’s performance.

8:54 p.m. – Last up is Britton (Team Alicia) singing “Dancing On My Own.” He’s decided to perform a ballad version of this hit without his guitar. Will it pay off? I have to imagine Britton has a huge advantage at this point. He’s the youngest of the three and the most unique. It will be shocking if Britton goes home tonight. The results are next!

8:59 p.m. – It is time to find out the fourth finalist. The winner of the instant save and advancing to next week’s finale is…Britton (Team Alicia)! Pryor (Team Blake) and Kaleb (Team Kelly) have been eliminated from the competition.

9:00 p.m. – Congratulations to the Season 14 finalists of “The Voice”: Spensha Baker (Team Blake), Britton Buchanan (Team Alicia), Brynn Cartelli (Team Kelly) and Kyla Jade (Team Blake).
