The fans were responsible for choosing which songs artists sang on “The Voice” Monday night, and nobody benefited more than Team Kelly Clarkson‘s powerhouse gospel singer Kymberli Joye. The worship leader from Connecticut skyrocketed to number seven on the iTunes chart with her fiery performance of “Break Every Chain.” Kymberli was in need of a big week after the one-time front-runner failed to break into the top 200 on iTunes last week. Watch the performance above.
While iTunes is no longer an official voting method, it remains one visible way to find out which artists are striking a cord with viewers. At the time voting closed, Team Jennifer Hudson‘s Kennedy Holmes had also cracked the Top 10, peaking at number eight with her inspiring rendition of the Whitney Houston classic, “The Greatest Love of All.”
Team Kelly’s teenage country star Chevel Shepherd landed at #15 with her take on “Space Cowboy,” while Team Blake Shelton‘s Chris Kroeze rocked his way to #21 with “Long Train Runnin’.” Also performing well this week were Team Jennifer’s MaKenzie Thomas at #22 with “Emotion” and Team Blake’s Kirk Jay at #26 singing “Body Like a Back Road.”
In the bottom half this week, Team Adam Levine‘s front-runner Reagan Strange had a slight hiccup, only reaching #89 with “Complicated,” while Team Kelly’s Sarah Grace landed at #95 with “Dog Days are Over.” Even further down the chart, Team Adam’s DeAndre Nico peaked at #136 with “Cry For You” and Team Blake’s Dave Fenley rounded things out at #192 with “Use Me.” Team Kelly’s comeback kid, Lynnea Moorer, continued her season long struggle and failed to crack the Top 200 on iTunes.
While this information may be helpful when predicting who will go home this week, proceed with caution. Just last week Team Adam’s Tyke James was the third-most popular iTunes artist before being sent home in a shocking double elimination. Which artist do you think will be sent packing this week?
