If you’re a fan of explosions, katanas and gunfire, you’re gonna love the Season 8 finale of “The Walking Dead.” Airing Sunday, April 15 on AMC, “Wrath” finds our heroes readying for yet another battle with Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and his Saviors. “We are worse than we were and we can’t go back,” rasps a worn-out Morgan (Lennie James) to Rick (Andrew Lincoln). “So let’s just finish this.” Watch the preview trailer above for “The Walking Dead” Season 8, Episode 16.
Also in the video, a fully committed Eugene (Josh McDermitt) hands Negan a gun, which Negan then uses to shoot a hay bale wearing a “rick” T-shirt. In last week’s episode Eugene appeared to finally made his choice between Team Negan and Team Rick when he refused to be saved by Daryl (Norman Reedus) and Rosita (Christian Serratos).
As a terrified Tara (Alanna Masterson) aims her rifle at a group of Saviors, Eugene is next seen pointing a gun at Gabriel (Seth Gilliam) to apparently stop him from escaping. Last week a still-loyal Gabriel expressed his dissatisfaction at making bullets for Negan’s war, so might Eugene punish him for failing to obey orders?
Among quick shots of Jadis (Pollyanna McIntosh) opening a box car and Dwight (Austin Amelio) being forced to wear a shirt with an “A,” Rick’s group arrives fully armed at the location where Dwight told them Negan would be. Unfortunately, Dwight was tricked by Negan and appears to have unwittingly led Rick into a trap.
