Since his first audition stand-up comedian Samuel J. Comroe has been very open about his Tourette’s syndrome, and that didn’t change during Tuesday night’s “America’s Got Talent” Finals. Samuel’s set this time around focused on how he originally met his wife and why he doesn’t like to deal with rude people. Will Samuel be named the winner of “AGT” 2018? Watch the “Americas Got Talent” performance video above, read the judges’ comments below, and then make your predictions before Wednesday’s Season 13 finale.
Mel B: “You have me smiling from ear to ear. My cheeks are hurting because I was laughing so much. You know what it is? The way that you style out these jokes and your delivery — and I can’t believe that you can actually talk that long without taking a breath. You really honed in your work, punch line after punch line after punch line. You’re amazing. I think you’re brilliant. I love your swagger. I love everything about you.”
Heidi Klum: “Samuel, Samuel. You won me over tonight, you really have. I think that this was your best performance this far and I wish you good luck for tomorrow. You won me over.”
Simon Cowell: “You know, I was just thinking because I’m not an expert on this, but the great thing about watching a comedian is you know when they’re good by the audience’s reaction. And the audience loved you tonight, I could tell that. In addition, it’s not just you Samuel, whereas a week ago everyone was literally dying because of their nerves, you had a sharpness to you tonight along with everybody else. You want to win this, and I respect you for that. You’ve given yourself a shot after that, I’ve gotta tell you.”
Howie Mandel: “Well, I think it’s all subjective, but I gotta tell you personally, I love you. I thought you brought your A game. I thought America loves you, this audience loves you. That was your best act yet. I think your mother is looking down on you. You’re a great man, a great comedian and deserving to be here. I wish you the best of luck. I love you and your career just took off tonight.”
In his “AGT” live blog, our recapper Denton Davidson had this to say about the performance: “Next up is comedian Samuel J. Comroe. Prior to taking the stage, we heard the heartbreaking story of how Samuel lost his mother. He hopes his inspiring journey leads his daughter to follow her dreams. I love the swagger this guy has on stage, but I have to be honest, he’s never made me laugh. He seems like a fantastic person and a true inspiration but comedy is subjective. The audience seems to be laughing, but in the battle of comedians, I think Vicki had the better crowd response. The judges were all on their feet though!”
