During Monday’s Top 10 Women episode of “So You Think You Can Dance” Season 15, judge Vanessa Hudgens wept tears of joy while watching Magdalena “Magda” Fialek dance to an acoustic version of “What About Us.” After Magda’s performance a teary-eyed Hudgens admitted, “I’m literally crying. You got me.” Watch Magda’s emotional “SYTYCD” performance above and then read the judges’ comments below.
Hudgens continued, “That moment where you were just wrapped around him and your leg was around him and you lifted up his leg and you guys were moving through space as one? It was gorgeous.” The actress and singer then threw her hands up in the air and shouted, “I’m dead! I need makeup!”
“You got me on that one, damn!” fellow judge Mary Murphy declared. “You gave an honest performance, which a lot of ballroom dancers just have the toughest time doing. To be able to affect us like this in a short period of time is extraordinary, Magda.”
“Got me too,” noted judge/producer Nigel Lythgoe. “I’ve watched your journey from when you came on the show with the trio, all the way through with the Academy and again today. You should be very, very proud of yourself. Thank you.”
After Magda hopped off the stage, Hudgens whispered to Lythgoe, “She has a fire that she’s brought to every single round in the Academy.” And Lythgoe quickly responded, “Which is why she’s in the Top 10. And she’s strong enough to be in the Top 5.”
At the end of the episode Lythgoe’s words came true when Magda was named one of the female finalists for Season 15 of “So You Think You Can Dance.” Chelsea Hough, Jensen Arnold, Genessy Castillo and Hannahlei Cabanilla joined Magda for those five coveted positions.
