Vanessa Kirby (‘The Crown’) Emmy episode revealed for Best Drama Supporting Actress (Exclusive)

Gold Derby can exclusively reveal that Vanessa Kirby is entering “The Crown” episode “Beryl” as her Emmy submission for Best Drama Supporting Actress. This installment streamed December 8 and was the fourth episode of the second season for the Netflix show.

In this segment, Princess Margaret (Kirby) sulks at a friend’s wedding before reluctantly accepting a marriage proposal from Billy Wallace. Before the engagement is announced, he gets injured and informs her that he has been unfaithful. She later meets photographer Tony Armstrong-Jones (Matthew Goode) at a dinner party. The duo hits it off romantically, and he takes her home on a motorbike. Enjoy our recent video chat with Kirby discussing this season and her career.

Kirby now has her first ever Emmy nomination in her career. For the 2018 ceremony, she is up against reigning champ Ann Dowd and her “The Handmaid’s Tale” co-stars Alexis Bledel and Yvonne Strahovski. Others in the category are returning nominees Millie Bobby Brown (“Stranger Things”), Lena Headey (“Game of Thrones”) and Thandie Newton (“Westworld”).
