“Dancing with the Stars” season 27 begins Monday night, September 24. But even before any of the celebrities have hit the dance floor our users already think they know who will win. Or at least, they’ve narrowed it down.
According to the forecasts of our readers who have entered our predictions contest thus far, R&B singer Tinashe is the front-runner for the Mirror Ball Trophy. She gets leading odds of 17/10, and for good reason. Singers like Mya (runner-up, season 9), Nicole Scherzinger (winner, season 10) and Normani Kordei (3rd place, season 24) have done well on the show. And on top of that Tinashe comes to “DWTS” with lots of prior dance experience. She started training as a dancer when she was four, which will certainly help her judges’ scores. Then again, the judges and the audience might also hold her to a much higher standard given her prior expertise.
Tinashe will have to watch out for actor Juan Pablo Di Pace, who ranks second in our predictions with 4/1 odds. He is currently known for his role on “Fuller House,” where he co-stars with two other “DWTS” alums: season 18 finalist Candace Cameron Bure and season 22 contestant Jodie Sweetin. Di Pace also has career experience that could transfer well to the ballroom, having appeared in stage musicals like “Chicago,” “Grease” and “Saturday Night Fever.”
You can never underestimate a football star, so NFL player DeMarcus Ware currently places third with 17/2 odds. No sport has produced more Mirror Ball champions than football. Four players have won the show so far: Emmitt Smith (season 3), Hines Ward (season 12), Donald Driver (season 14) and Rashad Jennings (season 24).
Stand-up comedy hasn’t produced any “DWTS” winners yet, but some of our users have high hopes for Nikki Glaser, who is fourth with 12/1 odds. “Harry Potter” alum Evanna Lynch rounds out our top five with odds of 16/1.
