William H. Macy (‘Shameless’) Emmy episode revealed for Best Comedy Actor (Exclusive)

Gold Derby can exclusively reveal that William H. Macy is entering the “Shameless” episode “Sleepwalking” as his Emmy submission for Best Comedy Actor. This installment aired January 28 and was the 12th episode of the eighth season for the Showtime show.

In this segment, Frank Gallagher (Macy) is planning a robbery of Dylan’s house when he leaves on vacation as “one more big score.” He recommends to Fiona that she should “burn out” her unwanted tenants. Frank is impressed by the work done by son Liam on getting the alarm code for Dylan’s house. But it’s a fake, so he takes as many items as possible before the police start chasing him.

Macy is a two-time Emmy winner for acting and writing on the TV movie “Door to Door” (2003). He has received 14 career nominations, including five consecutive for “Shameless.” For the 2018 ceremony, his competitors are last year’s champ Donald Glover (“Atlanta”), previous winners Ted Danson (“The Good Place”), Larry David (“Curb Your Enthusiasm”) and Bill Hader (“Barry”), plus returning nominee Anthony Anderson (“Black-ish”).
