“I’m speechless right now,” a shocked Winston Hines confessed to “Big Brother” host Julie Chen following his live eviction on Thursday night. “At one point I was told to relax. It was going to be a unanimous vote.” Winston was evicted by a narrow 6-5 margin after his own Level 6 alliance betrayed him, opting to save his bromance partner Brett Robinson instead. Gold Derby readers correctly predicted that Winston would be eliminated.
When asked who betrayed him, the 28-year old medical sales rep replied, “Multiple people! That’s what’s so shocking. I know with a vote of 6-5 my alliance voted against me. There’s no other explanation.” Chen rubbed salt in the wound by responding, “Well, to set it straight for you your whole alliance did. And JC. And Sam.”
Chen then pressed for more answers, asking, “Who do you feel betrayed by the most?” Winston was quick to respond, “My alliance. Absolutely. Angela [Rummans], Rachel [Swindler], everyone I was close to.” He felt that even within the last hour before the live eviction his fellow houseguests had become stand-offish towards him.
“Rachel gave it away when she pulled me and Brett aside and wanted to say goodbye,” he continued. “She looked at me the entire time she was talking. Ultimately at that point I knew something was up.” On his way out the door, Chen noticed Winston threw something on the ground. “It was a friendship bracelet from Sam [Bledsoe]. ‘Sammie Sweetheart.’ I’m biting my tongue, Julie.”
Despite his bitter feelings, Winston understood why Scottie Salton targeted him and Brett. “It was a logical response,” he said. “I get it. But I was blindsided because he voted for me to stay. That was another dirty laundry poem I was going to release to the house and I didn’t do it because I was assuming I was going to stay.”
Winston admitted that his bromance with Brett hurt his game, but he wouldn’t have done it any other way. He pleaded with Chen, “I’m waiting for you to tell me there’s some ‘Battle Back’ because I would love to go back in and wreck that entire alliance. I hope the best for Brett. But I hope for everyone else that they crash and burn.” His final thoughts? “I’m shocked and slightly embarrassed, but this is ‘Big Brother.'”
