The Hollywood Foreign Press Assn. will reveal the winners of the 76th annual Golden Globes on Sunday evening (Jan. 6). Less than 12 hours later, the academy will make the website live so that upwards of 7,900 members can begin casting their nominations ballots for the 91st annual Oscars. They only have eight days to decide on their picks for best pic at the Academy Awards as well as their favorite achievements in their respective branches.
Before this balloting is to begin, the actors and producers already unveiled their slate of contenders. On the day that voting for the Academy Awards kicks off, the art directors, cinematographers, film editors and writers will chime in with their choices. And prior to the Jan. 14 deadline for this first stage of voting for the Oscars, the directors, costume designers, makeup artists & hairdressers and sound mixers will announce their nominees.
Below, we detail these key dates.
