Rocker chick Betsy Ade performed during Night 4 of “The Voice” blind auditions with Florence + the Machine‘s “Hunger” and caused two coaches to turn their chairs around: Adam Levine and John Legend. After both coaches gave their pitches, Betsy took exactly zero seconds to make her decision to join Team Legend. Betsy and John then walked off the stage together arm in arm, as a majorly dissed Adam didn’t even get so much as a goodbye. Watch “The Voice” blind audition above.
While busting up laughing, Kelly Clarkson declared, “That was the least amount of time anyone’s ever taken! She didn’t even say like, ‘Ooo, this is gonna be tough.’ She just went, ‘John.'” Indeed, even we can’t remember a time when an artist made their decision so fast. Hopefully that means good things for Betsy’s future on Team Legend.
As Kelly and Blake Shelton continued making fun of Adam, he tried to put on a false front by stating, “I’m okay.” John returned to the stage after meeting with Betsy’s family and Adam informed him, “She didn’t even want to talk to me.” Hmm, something tells us Adam definitely isn’t okay.
What the coaches didn’t realize was that Betsy’s son desperately wanted her to join John’s team. Just before her blind audition, Betsy’s son said, “When my mom sings, I scream, ‘This girl’s gonna be a rock star one day.’ She wants Kelly. I want John Legend. One of my favorite songs is ‘All of Me.'”
John loved Betsy’s performance of “Hunger,” raving that she “deserves to be on this show.” He added, “I felt your power. I felt your energy. And then when I turned around and saw you, there’s charisma. I love the way you dress. I love your haircut. I just love the vibe.” Do you think Betsy made the right choice to join Team Legend, or should she have joined Team Adam?
