After 22 episodes of “America’s Got Talent” that ran for a whopping 38 hours, we are just 120 minutes away from finding out who won season 14. The 10 finalists performed live on September 17 and America voted overnight for their favorite. The winner of “AGT” 2019 will be revealed at the end of a two-hour results show that will see all the finalists take to stage of the Dolby Theater one last time.
Based on our exclusive predictions, the top three acts to beat heading into the season finale are singer Kodi Lee, who is both blind and autistic; child singing prodigy Emanne Beasha; and acrobatic tumblers V. Unbeatable. Did one of them win the $1 million grand prize and a chance to headline at a Las Vegas casino?
Or was one of the other seven finalists lucky enough to pull off an upset? They are: singer Benicio Bryant; violinist Tyler Butler-Figueroa; dance troupe Light Balance Kids; stand-up comedian Ryan Niemiller; chorale groups Detroit Youth Choir and Ndlovu Youth Choir; and quartet Voices of Service.
Check out our minute-by-minute live blog recap of the “America’s Got Talent” results show, which is episode 23 of season 14 below. And be sure to sound off in the comments section about the season’s best and worst moments.
Keep refreshing/reloading this page as we’ll be updating live.
8:08 p.m. – To help celebrate the huge impact that chorale groups had on the season, Kygo and Ndlovu Youth Choir came together for a performance of his hit song “Higher Love” and Ryan Macklemore joined Detroit Youth Choir on stage and in the audience for an incredible performance of his hit song “Can’t Hold Us.”
8:16 p.m. – In the second mashup of the night, Tyler Butler-Figueroa got to play his violin alongside last season’s violin-playing star Brian King Joseph. That duet morphed smoothly into a performance by Light Balance Kids that to Simon’s surprise featured a cameo by his friend and former costar Paula Abdul!
8:25 p.m. – Emanne Beasha also got her time in the spotlight with her own duet performance. She was joined by world famous concert pianist Lang Lang who played a solo first and then hit the keys while she sang for us.
8:29 p.m. – Ryan Niemiller’s hero came to the show tonight to perform with him, but to everyone’s surprise that wasn’t a comedian. Instead he brought fan of the show and wrestler Chris Jericho around for a pre-recorded practice session where Ryan got to train like a real AEW wrestler as his dream persona Cripple Threat.
8:38 p.m. – It was really great to see the show devote a montage moment to honor Terry, without a doubt the best host the show has ever had. They highlighted the energy, smile and personality that he brings to the stage every night. He is such an infectiously happy and positive person when he’s introducing acts and even joining them on stage for their performances. Don’t y’all think he’s such a class act?! Love him.
8:41 p.m. – In what was honestly his best performance of the season, Benicio Bryant got the chance to sing with reggaeton star Ozuna. I say it was Benicio’s best because hearing him sing in Spanish and on an upbeat track really loosened him up in a way he never got to see him.
8:49 p.m. – Prior to her promised performance later in the show, Cher sat down for a conversation with Simon. We got to see the two of them bounce jabs off of one another as well as learn small tidbits about each other. Cher, I’ll have you know, is a fan of Wii Tennis for example while Simon seemingly has no idea what it even is!
8:52 p.m. – And as Terry promised us earlier in the show, Julianne took the stage to perform her new single “Transform” while also showing off some of her world class dance moves alongside V.Unbeatable!
9:02 p.m. – Before getting to the results, Voices of Service got their chance to take the stage again. Tonight they joined Billy Ray Cyrus for a beautiful rendition of his song “Some Gave All.” I actually really liked the group’s harmonies set against the backdrop of guitars and a full band!
9:08 p.m. – Thankfully it only took an hour for Cher to come out! That’s right, she finally hit the stage to perform the ABBA hit “Waterloo” from her 2018 cover album “Dancing Queen.” I mean how great were the neon, rhinestone-covered outfits she and her dancers were wearing?!
9:16 p.m. – Leona Lewis is a reality show champion herself so it was fitting that she joined tonight’s frontrunner and expected winner Kodi Lee for a gooorrrrrgeous duet of “You Are the Reason.” Like, we already knew Kodi’s voice was so, so good, but to hear him match it to the voice of another singer just leveled him up.
9:28 p.m. – The top 10 acts were all on stage for Terry to drop the first set of results for the night. At this point in the show he named the top 5, in no particular order. It was: Voices of Service over Benicio Bryant, Ryan Niemiller over Emanne Beasha, V.Unbeatable over Ndlovu Youth Choir, Kodi Lee over Light Balance Kids, and Detroit Youth Choir over Tyler Butler-Figueroa!
9:36 p.m. – What are the biggest surprises in the top 5? Did you predict all of them and do you think each of them deserved it? Keep posting in the comments to share your opinions on the results!
9:41 p.m. – Not wasting any time, Terry announced that the act placing 5th was Voices of Service. Wow, I thought they’d be top 3 for sure after that stellar finale performance!
9:47 p.m. – And in 4th place it was V.Unbeatable………
9:48 p.m. – What……?
9:48 p.m. – I’m SHOCKED. What an incredible group.
9:49 p.m. – And in 3rd place it was Ryan Niemiller. That’s actually a really impressive finish for him after needing the Dunkin’ Save in the semifinals in order to make the finals! Congrats, Ryan!
9:56 p.m. – And so it came down to the top 2 acts of the season: Kodi Lee vs. Detroit Youth Choir. Honestly, we should have known it’d be these two–the theater audiences have been LOUD for both acts all season and especially tonight. I’m so excited for whichever of the two is crowned the champion.
9:59 p.m. – The winner of AGT season 14 is……. KODI LEE!
10:00 p.m. – Are you surprised by the results? What was the biggest shock of the night and which guest duet performance was your favorite? Sound off about all this and more in the comments. See you next season!
