Which ‘America’s Got Talent’ winner do YOU hope returns for ‘AGT: The Champions’ Season 2: Kodi Lee, Mat Franco … ? [POLL]

“America’s Got Talent: The Champions,” the wildly popular spinoff of NBC’s reality TV show “AGT,” is gearing up for its second season, which will likely air in January 2020. The series brings back dozens of fan-favorite acts from “Got Talent” shows all over the world including America, Britain, Australia, Belgium, Denmark, Spain and South Africa. Last season “The Champions” welcomed back no less than five acts who won “America’s Got Talent,” with close-up magician Shin Lim (Season 13) claiming the ultimate title. Of the eight former champs who didn’t receive call-backs last year, who do YOU hope returns for the second installment? Vote in our poll below.

The eight “America’s Got Talent” champs who are still waiting in the wings are ventriloquist Terry Fator (Season 2), country singer Kevin Skinner (Season 4), blues singer Michael Grimm (Season 5), jazz singer Landau Eugene Murphy Jr. (Season 6), animal act Olate Dogs (Season 7), magician Mat Franco (Season 9), singer/ukuleleist Grace VanderWaal (Season 11) and blind singer Kodi Lee (Season 14). The winner of Season 3, opera singer Neal E. Boyd, died in 2018.

Besides Shin, the other four “AGT” winners who appeared during the 2019 cycle of “The Champions” were singer Bianca Ryan (Season 1), dancer Kenichi Ebina (Season 8) and ventriloquists Paul Zerdin (Season 10) and Darci Lynne Farmer (Season 12). All four were eliminated by the Superfans during the performance rounds, but Darci earned the judges’ wild card and returned in the finale, where she came in second place behind Shin.

Kodi is the most recent act to join the “America’s Got Talent” winners list, a 23-year-old phenom who took America by storm with his Golden Buzzer audition. The singer, who was born blind and autistic, performed such classic tunes as “A Song for You” in his audition, “Bridge Over Troubled Water” in the Quarterfinals, “You Are the Reason” in the Semifinals and “Lost Without You” in the Finals. Kodi won the $1 million prize on September 18, 2019 against runners-up Detroit Youth Choir.

Last year we interviewed Shin about his big victory on “AGT: The Champions” and he admitted, “I thought [Darci Lynne] was gonna win! Especially after her finale performance with the opera. That to me is mind-blowing.” Shin later added, “It’s truly one of the most unforgettable experiences I’ll ever have in my life. I’m so grateful for everyone supporting me and believing in me. Sometimes I feel like I’m dreaming.”
